VIAS (formerly IBSR) tested autonomous shuttles in Han-sur-Lesse and Waterloo during 2018.

WOLUWE, SOLVAY AND SOON BRUGMANN

STIB started a 12-month experiment in Brussels during the summer of 2019. The first phase enabled two autonomous shuttles to run in the Woluwe park on a route reserved for pedestrians and cyclists.

UZ BRUSSEL HOSPITAL

The Vrije Universiteit Brussel (in partnership with the ULB) has developed a pilot project to run an autonomous shuttle on the site of the UZ Brussel university hospital located in Jette in the north of Brussels.

Maria Middelares Hospital

AUTONOMOUS SHUTTLE ON HOSPITAL SITE

The Maria Middelares Hospital in Ghent built a new building in 2015. This is connected daily to the tram station located 1 km away by a shuttle bus with driver which operates between 7:30 am and 5:30 pm and carries around 300 passengers per day.

ZAVENTEM AIRPORT

De Lijn is in the process of developing an autonomous shuttle line at the Brussels-National airport site. The service will be operated by shuttles from the 2getthere company which will be put into service in early 2020 to connect the airport to a parking area for staff.
